The new DPE - energy performance diagnosis - is accompanied by a mandatory audit for goods categorized F and G (then E in 2025 and D in 2034). Roughly, it identifies the work to be undertaken to improve the consumption of its housing during a sale or a rental under penalty of not being able to increase the rent or being prohibited from renting it. This audit, valid for 5 years, will therefore be mandatory from September 1st for the sale of F and G classified housing (January 1, 2025 for class E housing, and January 1, 2034 for class D housing). Nevertheless, it is the date of the sales agreement that will prevail. It does not apply to condominium apartments.
As a reminder, for those who rent seasonally in our ski resorts, it is not necessary to provide an ECD to your tenants, provided that you do not rent your property for more than 120 days per year. Beyond the 120 days, you will be obliged to provide the DPE to your tenants.
